Hidden Gem

Nestled among the big oak trees
two old hounds sniff the grounds
no squirrel safe
A young girl stand center stage
and belts out i love you like
like a love song baby
Man she sure can sing
I am greeted by name like an old friend
my glass filled with the beauty of the land
Do i hang by the fire pit where the smell
of burning wood fills the air and smoke
curls up to the heavens
it’s temping me with it’s warmth
or do i pull up a chair made from wine staves
wondering what wines they once held
I could put my feet up
relaxation is the theme here
where wine is poured gracefully by a beauty
named Roxanne and
that handsome mustached man
in the cowboy hat cruises by to say
hello like old family friend
A guitar is strummed and followers
hum hallelujah, hallelujah
hallelujah life is good here
where this old Napan thrives
here where there is an
old Napa vibe
a walk back
to when
people could gather casually
bringing baskets of cheese and fruit
breaking bread with old and
new found friends
I am grateful to have found
this little hidden gem.
